Everyone wants to make money online, but the truth is that most people aren’t. The reason for that is simple: they don’t follow the right steps. In this first article, I will be sharing with you some of the most common reasons why many of us fail when trying to make money online and how you can avoid them.
In the second article, I’ll be sharing some of the best, proven ways to make money online. Think of it as a menu of realistic business opportunities!
OK, let’s get started.
You don’t have a PLAN or a STRATEGY
If you don’t have a plan or strategy, it’s very likely that you will never make money online.
This is the number one reason why people fail to earn money from the internet. They simply don’t know where to start and what steps they need to take in order to achieve their goal.
The first step towards success is having a clear idea of what exactly it is that you want out of your online business, because this will determine in broad terms the type of online business you need to create.
For example, is your goal to ditch your regular job and become a full-time entrepreneur, or are you aiming to earn say, just a $100 more a month? Both are valid goals, but ditching your day job will require more work from you because you will need to generate way more profit than $100 a month!
You don’t think of it as a BUSINESS
If you’re not making money online, it’s because you don’t think of it as a business. Making money online is not a hobby, it’s a business. If you treat your online ventures as something to be done on the side, chances are that’s how they’ll turn out—as something that doesn’t make much of an impact on your day-to-day life.
So treat your new venture seriously. Set aside time every day or week to work on your business, just as you would if you had a traditional job. Make sure that this time is productive and not wasted by multitasking or surfing the web for non-business related things.
You purchase SCAMS or BAD PRODUCTS to make money fast
It’s safe to say that most people who are looking for ways to earn money online end up getting suckered into purchasing a product that promises to help them make money. They buy the product, but it doesn’t do what it says it will do. The buyer is disappointed and feels like they have wasted their money and time on something that did not deliver results.
How can you avoid this trap? It all comes down to researching products before buying them and asking yourself if they are worth your hard-earned dollars! Here are some things to consider:
- Is the promise too good to be true? If so, don’t buy into it! You’ll end up wasting your hard-earned cash on something that doesn’t work or deliver what’s promised in its sales copy.
- Is there proof that this product works? You need to make sure that whatever product you’re buying has proof of its effectiveness before parting with your hard-earned cash! Do some research online and see what other people have said about this product before buying it.
- Don’t trust testimonials! If someone has left a testimonial try to track them down online. If they have used the tool to be truly successful, they should be relatively easy to track down. The, reach out to them, telling them you are thinking of buying the product and ask them what they really thought of it, and how effective it’s been for them.
- Is there a guarantee? You want to make sure that you’re buying something that will work for you as well as your money back if you decide that it’s not for you.
You’re chasing every SHINY OBJECT you see – instead of focusing
There’s a lot of information out there, and it can be overwhelming. It’s easy to get caught up in the online game of who has the most subscribers or has the hottest product launch. But this is a waste of your time and energy because none of that will help you make any money online!
Instead, focus on just one system and start doing it consistently. Give your business a chance to work – be patient – see next point!
Your level of commitment is LOW — you dabble in online marketing and expect results FAST
If you want to make money online, you have to be committed. A lot of people think that they can just dabble in an online business and it will all come together for them quickly. The truth is that this approach rarely works out well, because it means that your level of commitment is low – you’re not willing to work hard at learning and improving yourself. You’re not willing to put in the time or effort necessary to succeed as an entrepreneur. And most importantly: You’re not willing to take action!
You’re afraid of FAILURE so you refuse to take action
This is a very common fear that I see many people struggle with. But let me ask you this: what is failure? Does failure mean that you can never succeed in life? Does failing mean that everything goes down the drain? No!
Successful people understand the value of failing and how to turn failures into success. The more you fail, more experience and knowledge you will gain towards becoming successful!
You VALUE YOUR TIME at $0
If you don’t value your time, then it’s impossible for you to make money online. You can’t expect to get paid for something if you don’t think it’s worth anything in the first place.
In my experience, if you’re willing to do something for free, then someone else will be doing it for a fee, and someone will be paying.
Your time is a valuable resource, so don’t do things for free that you could be charging for, and don’t charge your time at a super-low rate!
SUCCESS rarely comes first time around
Let me tell you that entrepreneurs rarely succeed in their first venture. In fact, entrepreneurship is an iterative process – idea, try, fail, repeat.
Creating and succeeding in an online business can make you feel isolated and alone, but you are not alone. It may seem like you’re the only person who isn’t making any money online, but I assure you that there are many, many people out there just like you.
The most important thing is to keep trying. Don’t give up on your dreams because one method didn’t work for you – there is so much information available today about how to make money online that if someone has already done it before, then there’s a good chance that they’ll share their knowledge with others.
When you are just starting out, it’s not about the money – it’s about learning something new and gaining experience so that someday soon when a solid opportunity presents itself, you are all set to succeed.
So there you have it, some of the most common reasons why many of us fail when trying to make money online and how you can avoid them. The bottom line is that success or failure of your online business comes down to you. Take your time, think things through, then take informed action, and I promise you will get there someday!
